Using Basic Strategy Charts and Cards
Blackjack strategy charts help players decide what action to take in any possible situation during a blackjack game. Charts are read with the players hand listed vertically on the left side of the chart with the dealer’s exposed cards variations listed on the top.

BOLD BLACKJACK STRATEGY A bold strategy means you are already the favorite to win money on a hand but if you split you'll win even more money. For example, suppose you are dealt a 9-9 against the dealer 6 upcard in a 6-deck, s17 game with NDAS, and resplits are allowed to a total of four hands. Basic strategy is just the rocket booster. It gets the shuttle high enough in the atmosphere for the shuttle to do the rest of the work. The rocket booster never makes it to space. You’ll need counting, deviations, true count conversions and betting strategy to actually beat the game of blackjack but that’s for later. Basic blackjack strategy is simple to understand, with only minor alterations for different variations of the game. For inexperienced players however, it can be initially tricky to learn. We recommend that new players keep our (downloadable and printable) blackjack strategy chart handy when learning, or practice with free blackjack games.
To determine the best course of action, find the value of your hand and of the dealers hand, then follow the lines to see what action the chart recommends. Different actions such as standing, hitting, doubling, splitting and surrendering are usually color coded to make the charts easier to read.
The traditional blackjack basic strategy takes into account only the total of the player’s hand and the dealer’s upcard. With a hard 16 against a dealer’s 10 upcard, the strategy states to hit (assuming surrender is not offered).
As you use blackjack strategy charts, watch for patterns. The more you use them, the more apparent these patterns will be. After time, you will come to know how to respond to each situation intuitively.
Keep in mind that strategy charts change depending on the rules of the game. Pay close attention to avoid using the wrong chart, as this can reduce your chances of winning.

Gameplay & Strategy: The Hit or Stand game works much like any other blackjack game, but your score is determined by your ability to make correct moves on each hand. After the cards are dealt, you have the option to Hit, Stand, Double, or Split. Because this game is a trainer, it is up to you to add the cards and know whether you are allowed to split or double. An illegal move will be counted incorrect. If your move is legal, it will be determined to be correct or incorrect based on the strategy tables provided on the rules and strategy page. While blackjack strategy does change from casino to casino, most casinos fall under one of two categories: Las Vegas rules or Atlantic City rules. A correct move from either the A.C. or Vegas strategy tables will be accepted as correct. | Easy or Difficult: The game has two modes of play: easy and difficult. In both modes you will be dealt 20 hands, and your final score will be the percentage of correct moves you made. In difficult mode, the hands will by more challenging, and you will only have four seconds to make each decision. Bonus Round: A player who scores a 100% after the 20 hands will qualify to the bonus round. In the bonus round, you will be given one minute to make as many correct moves as possible. Blackjack Odds: Playing Hit or Stand will improve your blackjack strategy, and increase your chances of winning money. However, unless you count cards, the odds of blackjack are against you, even if you are a perfect player. Please remember that many blackjack books and websites are trying to sell you something. They have incentives to convince you of the ease and profitability of card counting.
